Been trying to decide on a winter coat for two seasons. I am really happy with my purchase. Sometimes I wish it was just a little shorter but it does keep me nice and warm!

Really great coat

I was hoping this would be warm enough for the -25C temperatures we get in Manitoba but the outer material is too light.

Not wind proof

Super warm, not the most flattering cut, but hey, I knew what I was getting into: a sleeping bag you can walk in. Love it!

Love the coat but had to return it because it was too large. Will reorder in a smaller size.

Perfect coat for me for fall and winter. Just the right size. I did not allow for layers as knew the coat would be good and warm without layering up underneath it. It is SO lightweight, but SO warm and comfortable to wear. I don&#x27;t feel as if the coat is walking down the street with a wee woman in it. Zipper works well (such a problem in cheaper coats). Deal clincher for me was that the outer shell is made of recycled plastic and the down is recycled. Good to know that no ducks or geese suffered to stuff my coat. And Patagonia is such an ethical company. I couldn&#x27;t figure out why the coat is called silent, but it really is such soft polyester that it is like wearing silk, and it is indeed silent. You would be able to get out of it quietly in a movie theatre or symphony hall without annoying close neighbours. Zero regrets in spending the money on it.

I wanted to love this coat. It was very comfortable and light. The sizing was good, although the sleeves were a bit short for me (I’m 5’9 and ordered a small). The material did not seem to have any wind-stopping protection and I was concerned that it would not be as warm as I need it to be. The details were just not quite there — the snaps are fine but not as nice as zippered pockets. The hood is a bit strange as it fits basically just around your head and your face sticks out. This jacket looks great unzipped, but when zipped-up I found it a bit too shapeless. I wanted to love this jacket but I just couldn’t. I ended-up buying the Vaillier Sagene on sale. It was a bit more expensive but it is much nicer.

Comfortable, cozy and very light but not quite right

Purchased an XS which is my usual size in Patagonia and the shoulders and sleeves are perfect— the parka is roomy but in the best of ways— it is like wearing a soft and light sleeping bag. The material is so soft and matte so you don’t look like you’re wearing a garbage bag! I’m 5’3” and the coat hits me just below mid calf. Can’t wait to wear it in colder weather this winter!

This parka is warm and insanely comfortable! Light and fluffy, it feels like the nicest sleeping bag imaginable that you can wear anywhere..:)
