I love the On running shoes and have 3 pairs! Unfortunately, I can&#x27;t say the same about the Cloudalpine hiking boot. This boot is very different than its competitors and its lack of comparable features doesn&#x27;t justify its similar price point. I&#x27;m an avid hiker and used to sell hiking boots. The sole has shallow lugs and the material is soft. The footbed is lacking arch support and feels flat which makes the boot fit and feel completely different than the runners. The laces are very long, and the locking lace system is confusing to use and requires both hands for loosening. There are instructions included but they were confusing to understand. When I pulled the lower laces tight the first time they showed signs of stress at the stitch point which I believe will become a warranty issue. Unfortunately On doesn&#x27;t say what brand of waterproof membrane is used in the boots and there&#x27;s very limited information on their website about their warranty. I&#x27;m a size 9 in the running shoes, but had to size up to 9.5 in this model of hiking boot. The one positive thing about these boots is that they are very light! I also tried on the On Cloudrock Waterproof and these fit much more like a On running shoe, so I was suprised when the Cloudalpine was so different, both in fit and construction.
