great price for a rain jacket and keeps you dry

great value rain jacket

I&#x27;ve had this for 2 years, worn it frequently but not exclusively, and not during colder weather due to small chest size so couldn&#x27;t be layered. It is delaminating. Very disappointing. It was leaking during a recent rain -- and discovered the problem with delaminating.

Had previously had a North Face jacket but thought I would try the Marmot. Jacket is lightweight, not as thick as the North Face. I am 5&#x27;9 and find the jacket fits better than the North Face as the Marmot is longer in the body. Good quality lightweight jacket.

A few weeks after discovering my MEC rain jacket was breaking down I ordered this one to replace it. The weekend after it arrived it was put to the test on a 55 km charity ride in the pouring rain. You’ve heard of trial by fire, this was trial by rainstorm. Although this jacket is not designed for cycling, the back isn’t long enough to cover your bum while riding, the pit zips provided enough ventilation to keep me cool while the jacket itself kept my upper body dry. I knew partway through the ride that this jacket was a keeper. Since that first test of only had the opportunity to wear it once (been kind of driving around here this season) on the back is long enough to cover my bum while walking in this jacket. Maybe it’s just a personal preference but to find some jackets too short with the rain trickling down the back of the jacket only to empty out on the bum, and I hate that.
Some of the features I like about this jacket are its pit zips, a large adjustable hood, the high collar and the beautiful bright violet colour (that makes you visible in the grey pouring rain).

Great budget raincoat

Was deciding between this or Patagonia Torrentshell, but Altitude had a sale for PreCip @ $78. Jacket is lightweight, and perfect for summer hiking and backpacking. It rolls up into the pocket, and there is even a loop to attach it to a carabiner.

Versatile jacket that is pack-able for your travelling needs! Venting under the arms is a plus and hood fits well...not misshapen as many are. My teenage daughter has had the jacket for at least 1 year and still loves it. I decided I had to get one too!
