wearing this for winter sport, you're likely going to be wearing it under a shell or other layers, anyhow. Build quality seems high, and it's less expensive than the Nano Puff. I also got this on a great sale, which made it an even better buy.
Feature-wise, this is also a close fit to the Nano Puff with the same new Primaloft Gold PURE insulation but more of it. In terms of warmth, this will take me down to a few degrees celsius standing around. A base layer, fleece or similar might get me a few more degrees, but lower than that, this a layer for something else.
Breathability is about par for this category, with active insulators and fleeces better equipped to support active use. The colourway does a nice job of keeping this from looking like a garbage bag, but fans of a plain matte black might look to the Arcteryx Proton or the Mountain Hardwear Kor Strata. I have both. Neither is quite as warm as the Capa, but they have a little more room for layering and aore.robust shell fabric.
Elastic at the cuffs is nice, but there are no chest or drop in pockets for those who want that in an insulator. Zippers works like a charm and overall build quality seems high.
This fits small compared with other brands. I'm 5' 9", 145lbs, Alim build, long torso. I normally wear an XS for Patagonia and Arcteryx regular fit, a small for Houdini, a medium for Castelli, and have a small Cotopaxi fleece which fits quite large in comparison. But I went with the size guide and the small fits me quite nicely. If you're worried, get a Membership and take advantage of free returns.
All in all, this is a stylish, fitted alternative to the Nano Puff in most ways, only less expensive. Read LessRead less about There are a lot of pros to this
