For reference I’m I’m 5’10” 145 lbs. The jacket body is an athletic fit. Sleeves are nice and long and stayed on wrists when reaching in all directions. 
Body length is also very good and is long enough to stay on waist when reaching to prevent drafts. 
The hood is comfortable and secures comfortably on your head when using the pull on the back. 
Cons could include no hand warmer pockets (if you&#x27;re into that)
Ever so slightly tight around the shoulder/armpit when reaching in certain directions. Would consider sizing up if you&#x27;re on the fence with your regular size and want something slightly roomier for layering anything underneath. 
Overall I love this jacket and how lightweight, compact and simple it is. Highly recommend.

Simple and Lightweight with good Sleeve and Body Length

Exactly what I wanted. Super light and windproof layer for trail running. Slim fit. Fits as expected. Hood a little larger than I expected but will fit over headlamp, etc.

I am 5’8”, 145lbs, slim build and fairly broad shoulders. The sleeves and length is good but body too tight for comfort. I won’t move to medium given sleeves and length will likely be off. Material is light weight and otherwise looks like a good shell if the fit was right.

Small is too small in body

Perfect for MTB, running or climbing. This product is lightweight and a good weather protection...

I was hard pressed to find a use for this. between a fleece and a full shell i didn&#x27;t see the need

Ok but not essential

This shell is incredibly light and thin, but protects me from the wind when I need it without adding weight or bulk to my pack. It packs surprisingly small. The thin material still seems strong, time will tell if it&#x27;s as strong as it looks!

So im a bit tall and finding the right upper body wear is a bit of a challenge. The sleeves are a bit short so i dont think i can keep it. Otherwise it is great to carry in a pack while hiking and it takes very little space. The design is good and the fit is right. No bells and whistles, which is my preference. I do recommend

It&#x27;s a super light shell!

I got three Patagonia Houdini hoodies because it is the light, windproof, very water resistance and pack down to nothing. However, that tiny pocket can no longer hold a modern phone that is six inches across, especially if you use the headphone jack which adds another inch. 

I brought this because it&#x27;s Black Diamond, and share similar characteristics with the Houdini. I own a BD Alpine Start hoody a few years ago and it looks and performs like new. I&#x27;ve only owned this jacket for a month, took it to the mountain three times, and running a few times and honestly, I am kind of disappointed.

The fabric is kind of see-through but once it wet-out it is almost transparent. This might be the reason why the color that I received is so much darker than the picture shown here. To reduce how see-through it is when wet. 

Not as water resistant as I thought, the claim of this jacket unique DWR is that is is much better than the competitor so far I have found my old Houdini to be significantly better. Maybe over time, this jacket DWR will hold up better, but brand new, this jacket performs worse than my old Houdini. 

Durability: I am already seeing rips close to the seam, which is a huge disappointment since my Alpine Start jacket performed so well.

Fit: BD website claim that this is a slim-fit, but I found the large fit more loosely than some of their regular-fit jackets. I sized up, but I think I should have stayed with a medium. 

Overall it&#x27;s a solid contender in the Ultra-light wind shell. It might be your only option if you want a usable chest pocket. In an attempt to show how small the Houdini is they provide this tiny chest pocket that can&#x27;t hold anything. It&#x27;s lighter than the Houdini, so if you&#x27;re going to bring a waterproof jacket anyways, this is a good option. I would have to return it if my experience with the BD warranty service isn&#x27;t so good because of the durability concern.
