I am a big Altra shoe fan. I have tried multiple different models (road and trail) and I needed a comfortable road racing shoe. This is the first carbon plated shoe I have tried and so far the slim fit is working just fine. I usually wear the original fit, so I was nervous that the slim fit may be to tight. This shoe has a sleek and tapered look and the upper stretches perfectly to provide me with a nice locked in feel. I do not intend to run in these as a daily trainer. I look forward to getting these out on the road. If you have a narrow to average width foot, this should work for you. I have a average to high arch and these fit and feel good.

Chaussures Altra Vanish Carbon -

Great pair of Altra’s. I used to run with the Torin’s but the Vanish C is better. If you are a normally an Altra size 13, then size 13 will fit for the Vanish C. Unlike the Torin the Vanish C has a curved sole and that means that you may have to change your stride to push back because of the “rocking” nature of the shoe/sole. This means that you will propel and run faster. The Vanish is a lighter shoe and really nice cushion. The laces are the worst part of the shoe, because they keep on loosening. I got some cheap foamy laces from Walmart and they stay put and look great on the Vanish C. I fully recommend the shoes for runners that run any where from 1km- 43km( My personal distance in one race) or maybe more . The colour is bright orange and visible, which I like, because it catches the eye of motorists and pedestrians, and that way they are aware of you. Fully recommend the Vanish C for runners that are fitted for Neutral and Cushioning runners. I already bought a second one to interchange.

Excellent Footshape Running Shoe

Good shoe but after first 10k, the sole was already showing signs of deterioration. These are zero drop but they are made to give the user a front rocking motion which feels weird for someone used to zero drop shoes.

Definitely go up half a size or full, but overall great shoe with lots of bounce to it. Love it

Great race shoe!

I wear Altras most of the time (so I&#x27;m used to the zero drop) and find these ones very fast and fun. I was worried that the &quot;slim footshape&quot; would not fit my wide foot but it is still roomy enough and a better fit than the other brands racing shoes (especially for my pinky toe). 
True to size but, if you&#x27;re in between two, I would advise sizing up. 
Only major problem with these shoes is the EVA outsole which is not durable at all. I would have greatly preferred rubber even if it came with a small weight penalty.

Fast and fun, but not durable

If you are looking for a zero drop shoes to break your personnal record on a marathon, the Vanish Carbon are the ones. I beat my time by 6min despite 3 more year old. You feel comfortable inside and feel the boost provided by carbon plate. The only concern: the sole seems to wear out more rapidly than other Altra shoes.
